About This Year’s Button:

Our yearly button designs try to incorporate the vocation or interests of our Grand Marshal for that year.  For the 2012 Saint Patrick’s Day Parade our Grand Marshal is Charles “Chaz” Donovan.  Chaz, now retired, had a long career in the defense industry.  The anchor and water represents Chaz’s love of the ocean, his career in the Navy, his love of sailing, and his service on the Waterfront Committee as a board member.  The bridge, a symbol of the City of Newport, represents Chaz bridging the gap between the generations, from youth to aged.
